The ladies membership has grown thanks to the introduction of weekly ladies morning and the re-introduction of a ladies teams for the league. In 2015 we will be entering one team in the Leicestershire Summer League. We are keen to recruit new team players.
There is a regular group of ladies playing at
the club on Tuesday Club Nights and Saturday afternoons.
We also hold a Ladies Charity Tournament and lunch during the early summer.
Oaks Ladies also take part in the LOROS Ladies Doubles Tournament and Leicestershire Veterans Ladies Tennis Association Winter Tournament.
Ladies interested in playing for the club teams
for the season 2015 are welcome to join our Indoor Winter Match Practices , which take place on a Thursday evening at the LTA
Academy Courts in Loughborough. There is an additional charge for this
activity to cover the cost of the indoor courts and balls.Ladies Morning
Ladies Morning takes place on Wednesday from 9:30am onwards and non-members are welcomed for a fee of £3 for a maximum 6 sessions after which you would be expected to join the club.
Ladies Team
For 2015 we will be entering one team into the main Leicestershire Ladies Summer Doubles Leagues. Any ladies interested in playing in the Summer League should contact the Ladies Captains.
Matches take place at home or away during the summer from May onwards. The main summer league matches usually start at 6:15 or 6:30. A team consists of 3 doubles pairs. Each pair will play one set (to 9 games) against each of the opposing teams pairs. The contest is followed by a match tea.
The Winter League Teams consist of 2 doubles pairs. The Winter League matches normally take place on a weekend.

Match fees are £3 per player per match both home and away and players are expected to contribute to the match teas for home matches.
The regular time for Ladies team practices during the season will be advised. During the winter regular practice sessions are held indoors at the Dan Maskell Tennis Centre on Loughborough University campus.
Ladies Charity Tournament
Each year we hold a Ladies Charity Tournament, usually on a Friday in June.
Any ladies are welcome. There will be a fee for taking part which will cover the cost of the lunch following the tournament plus the contribution to charity.
Players will play in doubles but will compete against each other on an individual basis - aiming to win as many games as possible with different partners and against different opponents. Each round will last about 20 mins. The loosing pair in each round splits and moves to different courts. The winning pair stay on the same court but split and each partner one of the 'loosing players' joining them from the other two courts.
Club Members (including Men) and guests are welcome to join the players for the post tournament lunch.
For players taking part in the tournament the fee will be £10. For those attending the lunch only -the charge will be £8.

Leicestershire Veteran Ladies Tennis Association
The LVLTA hold a Winter Tournament each year. The tournament is for ladies who are 40+ and runs from September until April.
Unlike the summer league this is not a team tournament - players enter as a doubles partnership. Each year we have a number of doubles partnerships entered into the competition.
Players are divided into divisions. There are 17 of these divisions of varying standards to cater for all abilities. In each division there are 8/9 couples from various clubs in Leicestershire/Rutland and so each partnership will play 7 or 8 matches - roughly 3/4 home and 3/4 away. Each match is 3 short sets, i.e. tie-break at 6 all.
The matches are played between September and April at a time mutually convenient to both parties. We recommend that at least 2/3 of your matches are played before Xmas. Once they have entered the competition, players will receive a chart which identifies which of their matches are at home and which are away. Players are then responsible for organising the Home matches (at whichever venue they select) and for providing good quality balls and light refreshments afterwards (tea/cake/biscuits).

Ladies Winter Tennis Match Practice
During the autumn and winter months ladies interested in playing for the ladies teams are invited to join us for indoor match practice. These practices take place on a Thursday between 7:30 and 9pm at the LTA Academy Courts in Loughborough.
As we have to pay for court access there is a charge for this activity. .
